DHL, one of the world’s largest logistics companies, needed to modernize its data operations to keep pace with the scale and complexity of its global business. The challenge: fragmented reporting, slow error detection, and notification failures were limiting operational efficiency.

Heinsohn deployed a team of 25 IT engineers to design and implement a centralized data warehouse and reporting infrastructure capable of serving DHL’s global organization.

The initiative also included the Digital Performance Dialog — a reporting and analytics framework rolled out to 5,000 users across 10+ countries, enabling real-time visibility into operational performance at a global scale.

The BEPS (Beneficios Económicos Periódicos) program is Colombia’s government initiative to extend retirement protection to informal workers who cannot contribute to traditional pension systems. It allows flexible micro-savings that, over time, are supplemented by government subsidies to provide a periodic economic benefit in old age.

Heinsohn engineered the core technology platform that powers BEPS — a mission-critical system built to handle:

• Flexible micro-savings at scale, accommodating irregular contribution patterns
• Real-time payment network integration connecting to Colombia’s financial infrastructure
• High-volume transaction processing with reliability and auditability
• Government subsidy management ensuring accurate calculation and delivery of state contributions

The platform required the precision and resilience of a financial-grade system while serving a population that had historically been excluded from formal retirement systems.

Decree 1151 of 2008 established the framework for Colombia’s Government Online Strategy — a national mandate to digitize public services and modernize the way government institutions interact with citizens and each other.

Heinsohn was selected as a technology partner to deliver on this mandate, contributing more than 18 software projects across multiple government entities. These included:

• Digital service portals that moved citizen-facing procedures online
• Document management systems that digitized internal workflows and archives
